The launch date for the latest iPhone might have accidentally been revealed after Apple fans noticed a possible major clue.
Spotted by eagle-eyed fans, Apple quietly posted a test feed on its official YouTube account for a live event to be held on 10 September. This was the same date as the iPhone 11 launch last year.
Apple immediately pulled down the stream, but was not quick enough for Apple fans to start pencilling in 10 September for the launch of the new phone. “[It] has now disappeared, but it looks like Apple employees were testing the YouTube livestream for the 10th of September,” an excited fan tweeted.
The date for the flagship iPhone launch isn’t as predicable this year due to
COVID-19. Even if the gadget is unveiled in September, it might hit stores a few weeks later.
Apple’s senior vice president Luca Maestri
confirmed in July saying, “This year the supply of the new product will be a few weeks later.”
