Banksy’s Jean-Michel Basquiat Tribute Artwork Goes On Auction For The First Time

Banksy’s rare artwork paying tribute to the late street artist Jean-Michel Basquiat is now going up for an online auction for the first time.
The artwork, titled Banksquiat, was created last year in honor of Basquiat’s iconic works. The print is now available via an online sale by auction house Tate ward.
The piece will be on auction alongside other works by renowned artists including Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, and Francis Bacon.
Basquiat, who passed on in 1988, was distinguished for his graffiti art back in New York in the 1980s. His signature crown motifs are recreated in Banksy’s tribute work, which will be on sale until 25 August 2020 via Artsy.net.
