Nike has released a tribute film in honor of the late Kobe Bryant on his would-be 42nd birthday.

The short film features rapper Kendrick Lamar narrating in between the lines by Bryant’s archival footage. At one point, Bryant can be heard saying, “You wake up every single day to get better than you were yesterday—whatever it takes.”

Lamar continues “Better walker. Better talker. Better walking the walk and talking the talk. Better blocker. Better sprinter. Better loser. Better winner. Just…be…better.”

Alongside the clips of Bryant and his daughter Gigi were videos of star athletes, including Megan Rapinoe, Richard Sherman, and Serena Williams.

Towards the end, Bryant can be heard saying, “Do the simple stuff right. Mamba out.” Lamar then concedes with “better…forever.”
