Is That A Bird? A Plane? No, It’s Air Force’s Flying Car Design

The Air Force has unveiled the prototype of a flying car that might soon be launched as an official aircraft.
The electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle is called Hexa, and the Air Force took it for a ride into the skies on 20 August 2020 in Texas, per Task and Purpose.
The vehicle was designed by Texas-based LIFT Aircraft, which announced its collaboration with the US Air Force back in April. The initiative is part of a program called Agility Prime to help “accelerate the commercial market for advanced air mobility vehicles.”
Will Roper, assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition, technology and logistics, told Military.com that the US military hopes “to have 30 vehicles in the Air Force by 2030,” and now flying cars are in headway.
