During a Late Show interview, host Stephen Colbert finally asked Keanu Reeves the golden question: who would win a fight between the titular character from the John Wick series or Neo from The Matrix?

Reeves immediately swerved the inquiry by stating that the two of them wouldn’t fight. However, Colbert pushed on and asked, “What if Neo accidentally killed John Wick’s dog?”

The Bill and Ted star gave his final answer, along with an idea if the iconic characters were held in a universal crossover.

“No! No! They wouldn’t fight!” Reeves exclaimed, before adding, “but maybe John Wick would try and help Thomas Anderson [from The Matrix] out in the real world. Maybe against the machines.”

Colbert concluded the query by saying, “Alright, done. That’s canon now.”
