Melania Trump rocked an Alexander McQueen military-style jacket during the Republican National Convention last Tuesday.

The first lady cut a stylish figure in the designer jacket paired with a matching knee-length pencil skirt for her speech in the Rose Garden. The olive jacket featured large gold buttons and a belt worn around her waist. She rounded up the look with a pair of spikey stiletto heels in the same green hue.

Trump wore her light brunette tresses down and kept her accessories minimal.

The khaki number was similar to the garment worn by model Kaia Gerber back in 2019. She wore the same look to Vogue’s Forces of Fashion event. Gerber however switched up the look in a short skirt and black leather boots.

Since Trump is known to send a message through her choice of outfits, Diet Prada has compared her look to that worn by a military leader with the caption, “WeWoreWorldWar.” Instagram users were quick to comment that her outfit gave off “dictatorship vibes.” However, we can never be sure what message she was sending through her outfit.

The New York Times fashion director Vanessa Friedman also asked a question in an article: “What war, exactly, was she fighting?”



Trump wore a military jacket that read “I Really Don’t Care, Do U?’ while visiting children at the border back in June 2018.
