TikTok users are freaking out after discovering a trick to hear their “real voice.”
Voice actor Bob Feeser shared a clip of himself explaining why we don’t like to hear our own voice, and how to use the trick to hear ourselves from a different perspective.
“This is why you don’t like your own voice. Hearing your voice from another perspective is unfamiliar,” Feeser explained in his video’s caption.
He stated that the voice you are used to hearing inside your head is actually influenced by the sound reverberating inside your skull. Feeser further described that this sound you have been hearing is really a “distorted version of your voice.”
So, how do you try out this trick? Well, he asked viewers to place their hands on the side of their head, between the jawbone and ears, and speak to hear how “you sound like to other people.”
Predictably, many users are shocked after hearing their “real voice.” Try out this trick for yourself with Feeser’s tutorial below.
