NASA shared a photo displaying the remnants of a dead star via its Hubble Space Telescope.
The image shows an orange ribbon-like streaks from a dead star that exploded in a supernova 10,000 to 20,000 years ago. The star had resided in the northern constellation of Cygnus, which is also known as The Swan.
The snapshot captured from the space telescope traces the blast wave to some 2,400 light-years away.
NASA explains that the full wave “covers an area 36 times larger than the full moon.” For reference, Earth is around four times bigger than the moon, making the blast wave a massive structure in the cosmos.
