David Blaine Turns Pixar’s ‘Up’ Into Reality By Taking To Skies With 52 Balloons

Illusionist David Blaine has successfully pulled off a death-defying balloon stunt, which has sparked a series of hilarious memes.
Blaine took to the skies over the Arizona desert, carried by 52 balloons in a caper he called ‘Ascension’. He managed to reach great heights of more than 24,000 feet before he released a parachute and skydived back down to Earth. Viewers watched the stunt live over on YouTube, feeling both terrified and anxious for Blaine.
According to Blaine, the stunt was originally planned to take place in New York City but it was shifted to Arizona due to wind concerns. Blaine said the event was inspired by the 1956 film The Red Balloon.
The event has resulted in memes on Twitter, with many comparing it to the 2009 Pixar film Up, where a widow tied numerous amounts of balloons to his house in order to float through the sky to reach South America.
Others made fun of the randomness of his stunt, while some were just glad that the magician landed safely. Check out some of the funny social media memes below.
