NSFW: Nintendo Must Be Regretting Making ‘#Pokemonmastersex’ A Thing On Twitter NSFW

The bizarre hashtag, “#pokemonmastersex,” began trending on Tuesday. At first glance, it seemed to be an in-joke among Pokémon fans—but no, the topic surprisingly came straight from Nintendo itself.
According to TooFab, the company used the hashtag to commemorate the Pokémon Masters mobile game being rebranded as Pokémon Masters EX. What could go wrong? Well, as social media users found out soon enough after being Master-baited into clicking on the hashtag, everything.
Inspired by the copywriting slipup, Twitter users began taking imagery and messages from the video games and animated series out of context, as well as shared lewd fanart of Pokémon and trainers.
“#pokemonmastersex is a great example of why we proofread our promotions before they go live,” one Twitter user advised.
Suffice to say, you might never think of PokéBalls in the same way ever again.
