Facebook Messenger Limits Forwarding Messages To Curb Spread Of Fake News

Facebook previously launched a message-forwarding limit feature on WhatsApp, and now, the company is introducing it to its Messenger platform too.

The company announced the new limits on Messenger, detailing that users will only able to forward a message to five people at one go.

There will be a popup notification stating, “Forwarding limit reached,” if the user attempts to send content to more than five recipients at one time.

Facebook stated that the feature was launched to help “slow the spread of viral misinformation and harmful content that has the potential to cause real world harm.”
