Dettol’s Supposedly Relatable Ad On Going Back To Office Gets Trolled By Workers

With COVID-19 lockdown restrictions beginning to ease, Dettol has put up an ad about the simple pleasures of going back to the office on the London Underground station.
The advert is supposed to be relatable by mentioning some aspects of corporate culture, like “putting on a tie,” “the boss’s jokes,” and “proper [banter],” while encouraging workers to “disinfect surfaces we use throughout the day, so we can do it all again tomorrow.”
However, it seems to miss the mark because commuters have ridiculed the ad on social media by highlighting the comforts of working from home. One Twitter user even describes the list as “everything [he] hates about work.”
Others point out the similar way the ad was presented to the iconic quote from the Trainspotting films, where the protagonist would name themes in his lifestyle.

Oh look! They’ve made a list of everything I hate about work and put it on a poster! pic.twitter.com/UQ7C4jQthN

...Do they really think people are being sentimental about office work?! That whole "second family" thing reeks of desperation. Also, "not having to make lunch?" Oh please, I haven't gone out for a work lunch since like 2006. Cooking at home is way cheaper.

Choose working from home. Choose emailing in your pants. Choose being just as productive but gaining back your commute time. Choose coffee at £5 a bag not £5 a cup. Choose not having to hear "doing anything nice at the weekend". Choose a better life.

Choose a career. Choose a job. Choose an office. Choose coughing, sneezing, filthy door handles. Choose a one hour each way commute. Choose office politics. Choose faux outrage and fake humbles. Choose £4 sandwiches. I chose not to choose the office. I chose working from home
