Ai Weiwei’s New Film Offers An Inside Look Into The COVID-19 Lockdown In Wuhan

Artist Ai Weiwei has released his first feature-length documentary on the lockdown in Wuhan, China following the early COVID-19 outbreak in the city.
The artist directed the film, titled Coronation, remotely from Europe out of gathered footage.
The documentary explores the government’s response to the virus crisis, and how citizens were affected by the pandemic. Shots highlight government officials, healthcare workers, as well as everyday people combating the coronavirus during the first half of the year.
Coronation is now available to watch on demand on Vimeo or Alamo.
