Apple Has Designed A ‘Unique’ Face Mask Specially For Its Employees

Apple has designed a special face mask for employees in both the corporate and retail sectors to protect them against the coronavirus.
Called the Apple Face Mask, the garment is the first and only face covering to be fully developed in-house. It was designed by Apple’s Engineering and Industrial design teams, who are responsible for building its popular products such as the iPhone and the iPad.
Apple developed the Face Mask with a unique look and included substantial coverings for the user’s nose and chin. It also comes with adjustable strings to provide a better fit.
The mask features three layers to filter particles, and can be washed and reused up to five times
The company detailed that it carried out thorough research and testing to find the appropriate materials for proper air filtration without affecting the supply of medical personal protective equipment amid the virus crisis, per Fortune.
According to Bloomberg, the company is also using a transparent version called the ClearMask, which it worked with students from the Gallaudet University, an institution for the deaf and hard of hearing, to create.
By showing the full face, Apple believes that staffers will be able to communicate better with people with hearing difficulties. Therefore, it will also be venturing into making its own transparent face mask.
In the meantime, Apple’s employees will receive the Apple Face Mask, made with cloth, in the next two weeks.
