Manchester United has released a new zebra-themed kit, and it isn’t sitting well with fans.

Its players including Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay modeled the new design, which, according to adidas, is “inspired by striped jerseys from the club’s history.” The jersey is certainly eye-catching, with a hacked design that shows the pattern of black-and-white stripes at contrasting angles.

“From United’s first striped kit over 100 years ago, to the eye-catching designs of the 1970s and 80s, the latest release aims to provide a fresh update to tradition, while delivering a vibrant new print,” adidas said in a statement.

David Beckham too has been commissioned to model the gear, but that didn’t stop fans from leaving scathing reviews about the garment. Fans called the “zebra” kit the “worst shirt ever,” while others thought the design was meant to hypnotize its opponent.

“Even Beckham can’t make it look good,” a Twitter user chimed in. “That Zebra kit has to be our worst of all time without doubt, but also up there with the worst of all time in general,” another said.
