Dr Phil Wants The Internet To Stop Calling Him ‘Daddy’

Internet users have been referring to famous talk show host Dr Phil as “daddy,” and he has had enough of it.
The host posted a TikTok video stating how he doesn’t want to be labeled that way anymore.
“I ain’t ya daddy. I hate to break it to you, but I ain’t ya daddy [sic],” he says in the video. “And your real daddy is probably getting his feelings hurt. I appreciate the support. It's a little weird. But I do appreciate the support.”
You would think that people would take the hint and stop using the term. Well, it does not work that way on the internet. It seems that more TikTok users have been calling him “daddy” despite his video message.
The top comments of the post read, “daddy, chill,” and “we are sorry, father,” among other father-related remarks.
According to the Washington Post, the term “daddy” has been used on the internet to express “respect [or] adoration to a male authority figure,” but it looks like Dr Phil doesn’t want that for himself.
