The US Air Force Is Experimenting To Recruit Robot Dogs For Base Security

The US Air Force is embracing the Black Mirror-like concept of having robot dogs as protection for humankind.
The unit tested out a number of robot dogs “for perimeter defense at Nellis Air Force Base,” according to The Drive.
The electronic dogs, dubbed the V60 Q-UGVs (Quadrupedal Unmanned Ground Vehicles), are developed by Ghost Robotics. The company asserts that the devices are able to outperform other robots during long and intensive use outdoors.
The robotic dogs are also able to conduct “ISR (Inspection, Surveillance, Reconnaissance), EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), mapping, mesh communications and persistent security,” making them ideal for military use.
