Airlines In Asia Let Grounded Travelers Take Off With ‘Flights To Nowhere’

It’s no surprise that the coronavirus pandemic has affected the aviation industry, as well as many travel plans because flights have been halted to curb the virus spread.
However, airlines in Asia have found a way to satisfy wanderlust and boost business through flights to “nowhere.”
In Thailand, national carrier Thai Airways has opened a cafe within a plane, allowing remote passengers to get on board and enjoy a cup of coffee. VICE reported that the meals were being served by cabin crew donned in Thai Airways uniforms and face coverings.
EVA Air in Taiwan also allowed customers to experience traveling by letting them check-in and board an airplane in the Songshan Airport. Each trip lasts for three hours, as the plane circled the skies before returning to the same airport.
Now, Singapore Airlines is also planning to start hosting trips that will see planes taking off and landing back at Singapore Changi Airport, per CNN. The three-hour-flights are set to launch in late October 2020.
