US Customs Gloats Of Seizing ‘Fake Apple AirPods’ Which Are Really OnePlus Buds

The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that it had seized “thousands counterfeit Apple AirPods earbuds” from entering the US border, but little did it know that those were OnePlus Buds.
In a press release, the CBP proclaimed that it retrieved “2,000 counterfeit Apple AirPods Earbuds” on 31 August. The cargo was destined for Nevada and if the “merchandise were genuine, the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) would have been US$398,000,” according to the press release.
The statement also released photos of the seized items, which appeared to be genuine OnePlus Buds. “That’s not an Apple,” the CBP tweeted alongside photos of “counterfeit Apple AirPods.”
While the OnePlus Buds look similar to Apple’s AirPods, they’re not counterfeit goods.
Meanwhile, OnePlus is having fun with the situation. “Hey, give those back!” it tweeted.
