SpaceX attached a camera to its Falcon 9 rocket to document its journey into space on 30th August 2020 as part of the SAOCOM 1B mission, the agency’s first launch to a polar orbit from the East Coast.

The rocket soared at speeds of over 3,700 mph after its liftoff at Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

The Falcon 9 rocket ascended into space to deploy two smaller satellites, named as GNOMES 1 and Tyvak 0172. The satellites will orbit around the North and South poles to provide radar imagery that can help observe, predict, and monitor natural disasters.

The rocket then returned to Earth at Landing Zone 1. This event marked the first time in 60 years for a rocket to launch a satellite into a polar orbit from Cape Canaveral.
