‘Saturday Night Live’ Casts Jim Carrey To Play Joe Biden In Its Next Season

As momentum builds up for the November election, Saturday Night Live fans should be expecting to see more spoofs on the heated rivalry between presidential elects Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
With Alec Baldwin primed to reprise his Trump role, producers of the long-running sketch comedy show have now announced that Jim Carrey and his natural rubber face will join season 46 as the Democratic candidate.
SNL producer Lorne Michaels told Vulture, “There was some interest on his part. And then we responded, obviously, positively.”
Michaels said Carrey had discussed his interpretation of the part to SNL writer Colin Jost and himself over “a bunch of talks.”
“He will give the part energy and strength,” Michaels shared. “Hopefully it’s funny.”
For the first time ever, SNL will run five back-to-back shows, with season 46 episodes expected on 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 October.
Carrey has, on numerous occasions, expressed his distaste for President Trump through a series of satirical artworks. It’d be interesting to see how he’ll carry this cynicism into upcoming skits.
