‘Avengers’ Gets Replaced With John Krasinski, Who Auditioned For Captain America

America’s ass could have looked a lot different if John Krasinski had been cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
An amusing deepfaked video by YouTube channel Shamook imagines an alternate reality in which Captain America doesn’t have the same face as Chris Evans. Instead, Steve Rogers looks a lot like John Krasinski—a possibility that even Doctor Strange couldn’t have predicted.
As it turns out, Krasinski was considered for the role in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. The part eventually went to Evans, who had always been Marvel Studios’ first choice. The studio reportedly pursued the latter for the role three times before he finally took it on.
However, as Marvel films have taught fans, things would have literally been a world of difference in a parallel universe. Step into one potential outcome in the video edit below.
