A mother was left furious after learning that her eight-year-old daughter’s likeness could have been used to design a child sex doll that is being sold on
Amazon.
The mother, who only wanted to be identified as Terri, said she was alerted of the product, listed as “high quality sexy dolly live dolls for men,” being sold on the e-commerce platform for US$559. She thought the doll resembled her daughter, Kat.
“I knew it right away,” Terri told
NBC Miami. “I saw her and zoomed in on her face and her hair. I was just, I couldn’t believe it.”
The doll appeared to be sculpted after a photo that Terri shared on Facebook, where her daughter had worn a pink shirt and was sat cross-legged with a stuffed animal. The product seemed to mimic Kat very closely—from the outfit to hairstyle and pose.
“I can’t sleep sometimes because that’s all I can think about, men who have sex with those dolls, and I can’t get them back. I just want to burn them,” Terri continued. The reviews for the product, too, were quite disturbing.
Terri has enlisted the help of Child Rescue Coalition, an organization working to pass a federal law to ban the sale of child sex dolls. “I never imagined that I would be in this fight to get sex dolls off the internet,” she explained. “I knew I had to turn this negative into something more positive and make the best situation out of a nightmare.”
