The president’s son, Eric Trump, insinuated that he was a part of the LGBT community on Tuesday during a Fox News interview before his father’s 2020 presidential debate.
“The LGBT community, they are incredible,” Trump said. “And you should see how they come out in full force for my father every single day. I’m part of that community, and we love the man.”
This left many people confused . However, the 36-year-old later corrected himself by stating he had misspoken, and that he isn’t actually a part of the LGBT community.
Predictably, the mishap led many Twitter users to mock Trump’s statement. One wrote, “We, the gay committee, have had an emergency meeting and we have rejected Eric Trump’s application.”
“I don’t think Eric Trump came out as gay. I think he came out as someone who doesn’t know how to structure a sentence,” actor and writer Michael Creighton expressed.

Eric Trump is not gay. And no, I don’t know him personally, I’ve just seen his fashion choices. That’s a straight white man with daddy issues.
