The Trumps’ Awkward Embrace At 2020 Debate Gets Even More Tense In Funny Remix

When Melania Trump joined her husband on stage after his debate on Tuesday night, there was a brief exchange between the two that became a hot topic among internet users.
Melania did not greet president Donald Trump with an embrace and a kiss. She appeared to stroke Trump’s arm, and her husband did the same to her multiple times. They then gave each other nods and stiff smiles that were business-like.
Jill Biden, on the other hand, showed affection to Joe Biden by hugging her husband, projecting warmth and closeness.
Social media users also noted that Trump was quick to grab Melania’s hand on stage, after seeing the Bidens falling into each other’s arms. The contrasting embraces sent Twitter users into a meltdown, with actress Robinne Lee tweeting, “Look at how Jill Biden loves her husband and hugs him and look how the other woman is a cold reluctant fish.”
Artist Saint Hoax promptly created a meme out of the awkward embrace, editing the moment by inserting what Trump could have mouthed to Melania after seeing the Bidens hug. “Can we try doing that next time,” Trump was depicted to say to Melania. Instead of a resounding yes, Saint Hoax added in a clip of Jessie J singing a lyrical “No.”
