Adobe has just shown off an upcoming feature for Illustrator that will revolutionize the work process for artists, graphic designers, and brands. The improved ‘Recolor Artwork’ feature allows you to instantly replace all colors in vector artwork so you can create multiple variants of one graphic quickly.
As demonstrated in a new video, all it takes is to import some reference images into your document, which will let you automatically create new editable palettes in the Color Theme Picker. You can then drop any of the new color schemes into your work to have their hues wholly replaced in a snap.
It’s a massive upgrade to the existing Recolor Artwork tool, which only allows you to replace individual colors manually.
The impact of this feature will be significant for those who have been creating colored variants of their work for additional income. You can also shave off a great deal of time and labor when designing communication materials by dropping seasonal colors or a brand’s palette into your document.
The preview of this feature was made ahead of the Adobe MAX creativity conference on 20 to 22 October, which will be free for everyone to attend this year.
