Twitter To Fight Misinformation With ‘Birdwatch’, Allows More Context On Posts

Twitter is reportedly working on a new tool called ‘Birdwatch’, which aims to monitor misinformation on its platform.
The new feature will allow users to write notes under a tweet to give it more context and add it to “Birdwatch” for moderation, per TechCrunch. The additional notes can then be uncovered under a small binoculars icon beneath the post.
There will also be a new tab called ‘Birdwatch Notes’ on Twitter’s sidebar navigation alongside features such as Lists, Topics, and Moments to help you keep track of all the notes you have written so far on the platform.
The feature was first discovered by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong months ago through Twitter’s website. Take a look at how the new feature could look below.
