NASA Astronauts Will Be Voting For The US Elections From Space

This year, four NASA astronauts will cast their votes for the upcoming American presidential election in November from the International Space Station (ISS).
Back in 1997, a Texas law passed the ability for astronauts to exercise their constitutional rights off-planet, so they can participate in the elections while floating in the cosmos.
Crew member Kate Rubins will make her way to the ISS on 14 October 2020 for a six-month mission, while three additional crew members—Mike Hopkins, Victor Glover, and Shannon Walker—will join her after the launch scheduled on 31 October 2020.
These four astronauts will receive a password protected ballot uploaded by Houston’s Mission Control. They will then fill out their ballot sheets and send them back to Earth to be counted alongside every other vote in the nation.
Since the astronauts will be sent off from Houston, their entries will be considered as votes from Texas residents. However, they can choose to work with their counties to make special arrangements.
