Jim Carrey’s Impersonation Of Joe Biden On ‘Saturday Night Live’ Faces Backlash

On Saturday Night Live’s recent episode, comedian Jim Carrey took up the role of Joe Biden, which many viewers found ill-fitting.
The episode recreated two separate town halls, with one of Biden’s likeness and the other of Donald Trump, who was played by Alec Baldwin.
Though Baldwin received praises for his portrayal of Trump, Carrey did not get much fanfare for his rendition of Biden.
The Truman Show actor even had his name become a trending topic on Twitter later that day, with social media users expressing their disappointment with the presidential hopeful’s role.
Many users felt that Carrey had missed the mark in exuding Biden’s personality due to his “manic” persona, which didn’t line up with the presidential candidate’s stoic nature.
Some also struggled to match Carrey with Biden because the actor did not emulate Biden’s mannerisms or his way of speech in the parody.
“His impression is so disconnected from Biden, it’s absolutely painful to watch,” one user stated.
Some also suggested the program to replace Carrey with Jason Sudeikis, who had starred as Biden before, or SNL alum Kate McKinnon.
