Archaeologists Spot An Adorable 2,000-Year-Old Cat Geoglyph On A Hillside

The Government of Peru has announced the discovery of a 120-foot-wide etching of a cat on the side of the Mirador Natural Hill. The mark is noted to have been there for over 2,000 years.
The adorable feline design at the Nazca Lines site dates back to the Late Paracas period between 200-100 BC, known to be the oldest in the area. The massive etching has strokes ranging from 12 to 16 inches thick.
The furry creature’s geoglyphs now join the list of other renderings like a spider, monkey, whale, and fish.
“The figure was barely visible and was about to disappear due to its location on a fairly steep slope and the effects of natural erosion,” the Peruvian Ministry of Culture said in a statement.
