Apple’s Blue iPhone 12 Isn’t A Notch Above In China, Where It Reminds Of Trash

Social media users in China have their own set of memes about Apple’s new iPhone 12 series. They’re a tad down in the dumps(ters) about the new blue finish for the mid-tier iPhone 12, which looks a little too much like recycle bins to them.
The iPhone, a status symbol everywhere, suddenly got tossed into a heap of ridicule after a couple of posts by tech bloggers compared the newly-released color to recycling bins and other trash-related objects.
One user from Chinese social network Weibo even went so far as to share side-by-side pictures of the blue iPhone 12 against a blue toilet brush, dustpans, underwear, and slippers.
Another pointed out that all the iPhone 12 is available in other trash can shades of black, red, and green.
Taking a glance at the #iphone12 explore page on Instagram, though, it seems like blue is one of the more popular colors for the 2020 iPhone. This could simply be a case of one man’s trash being another’s treasure.
