South Korean girl band aespa has introduced its latest member to its group, known as ae-KARINA.

However, she is not like the rest of the members. She is a completely virtual avatar.

It seems like ae-KARINA is the digital version of the real-life band member Karina, who is a 20-year-old singer from South Korea. The two of them reportedly share “various skills including vocals, rap, and dance,” per K-pop site Soompi.

The band, under SM Entertainment, has revealed that it will now include both the IRL and “virtual” band members in future appearances.
