Amazon Advises Buyers To Place Orders Earlier To Avoid Delays On Christmas Gifts

During Amazon’s earnings call last Thursday, its CFO Brian Olsavsky gave a tip to shoppers to place their gift orders early to avoid disappointment with late deliveries.
There are a few reasons for the extended time in delivery. Some of it includes the increased demands for online purchases, as well as the COVID-19 measures enforced in its warehouses like reduction in capacity.
“It’s going to be tight for everyone. We’ll all be stretched. And it’s advantageous to the customer and probably to the companies for people to order early this year. But regardless of the order pattern, we’re going to do our best to get the usual excellent service to our customers,” Olsavsky stated.
This information doesn’t come off as a surprise as Amazon and its third-party shipping partners have faced obstacles in timely deliveries due to low inventory and the rise in demand during the pandemic.
Eariler this year, the company also announced that it is venturing into drone delivery to speed up the processes during times like this.
