Although celebrations have been different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, brands still whipped up their most creative campaigns this Halloween.
What better way to kick off the Halloween-themed ads than with Guinness’ ingenious idea to transform its famous whisky pint into a spooky full moon against a pitch-black background? “A rare full moon brought a treat to the skies for Halloween 2020,” the description of the ad read, before wishing its fans a happy Halloween at the foot of the ad.
This Halloween, Burger King Chile offered free Whoppers to customers if they managed to make someone scream. All customers had to do was to send a video of them scaring their friends. “The more you scare, the more you can eat,” BK said.
A&W also jumped on the Halloween bandwagon, this time parodying the horror classic The Ring to promote its onion rings. The Onion Ring campaign featured a website, a “cursed” video and instructions to enter a friend’s phone number in a text field. The visitor is then instructed to text the video to their friends. Once the message was opened, the person would see a black-and-white film featuring the chain’s mascot and onion rings.
While the recipient in The Ring died after a phone call, the victim of the A&W prank would receive a recording of a lady reminding them of the chain’s tasty onion rings.
Por Halloween, Burger King Chile cambió el valor de sus Whoppers y las ofreció gratis, solo si el consumidor enviaba un video asustando a alguien más y taggeaba a la cuenta de @burguerking_chile en IG. "Asusta a tu manera, disfruta a tu manera".#EDP2020#Halloweenpic.twitter.com/FwR3v1KQRT
