Architects Have Designed The World’s Longest Cantilevered Structure In Dubai

Japanese architects from design firm Nikken Sekkei have built the world’s longest cantilevered building, called The Link, in Dubai.
The Link, spans 226 meters (741 feet) and weighs 9,500 tonnes, sits in between two towers of the popular One Za’abeel residential community.
The concept behind the bridge was to create a “floating effect,” as though the structure was hovering in the air. It was built to seem like it was placed “off” the towers, instead of “on” the towers like most buildings with a bridge.
The design structure has broken the record of being the longest cantilevered building in the world and will soon be a new landmark in the heart of Dubai. Watch the notable lift of the bridge below.
