Explore Van Gogh’s Work With Immersive ‘Worldwide’ Platform Compiled By Museums

As museums largely remain out of reach, a number of institutions have pooled their data to launch a Van Gogh Worldwide platform to be accessed around the world.
The immersive database, compiled by the Van Gogh Museum, Kröller-Müller Museum, RKD–Netherlands Institute for Art History, and the Cultural Heritage Laboratory of the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands, currently features letter references, technical information, provenance, literature and exhibition history of over 1,000 works of Vincent van Gogh.
These include closer glimpses at artworks from the Post-Impressionist’s earlier life, as well as some of his more prominent paintings.
As the project is still in its early stages, the platform only comprises observations from Dutch establishments like the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Groninger Museum, and Kröller-Müller Museum, according to ARTnews.
These make up about half of Van Gogh’s known works. In time, the resources will expand to those owned by international museums. Explore the library here.
