Playful Comics About Life Before & After COVID-19 Will Cheer You Up

The coronavirus pandemic has spurred a new normal for the way people lead their lives. Lockdowns, work-from-home arrangements, mandatory masks, and canceled holiday trips have become the way of life.
To bring comic relief during these tough times, Silicon Valley-based Irina Blok has created a series of illustrated before-and-after comics that many might find to be all too familiar in 2020.
The witty and relatable comics showcase how things have drastically shifted since the virus crisis. In one of her works, Blok highlights the “morning commute” most people experience nowadays. In the “before” section, a man is seen waiting in traffic, while the “after” section reveals the man lounging on a couch with his laptop.
Another one of her creations depicts a pie chart comparing how people used to spend their evenings versus after the pandemic struck. Before COVID-19, evenings were jam-packed with activities, leaving very little time for Netflix, but now Netflix takes up most of the time.
Her lineup of artworks might evoke a sense of affinity and reassurance when you realize you’re not alone in this unprecedented situation.
