Ghanaian Pallbearers Return For Amusing Mask Ad: Wear One ‘Or Dance With Us!’

Ghana’s famous dancing pallbearers, the subjects of a meme most fitting for thoughtless life-risking individuals and anti-maskers in 2020, are back to offer a word of precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic in a humorous face mask campaign.
The group is well aware of its leverage during the crisis. Previously, the pallbearers delivered a heartfelt note to frontline workers to thank them for their undying efforts, before alerting the public: “Stay at home or dance with us.” They have since carried a similar message with them in an advert for Ghana-based brand Afrisocks, which focuses on socks inspired by West Africa’s traditional design and vibrant colors.
To promote Afrisocks’ new three-layer face masks, the famous pallbearers have starred in a new ad—complete with the iconic Astronomia track in the ‘Coffin Dancing’ meme—sporting the brand’s colorful socks and masks, on top of their mourning suits. One of them is shown crying out, “Wear your Afrisocks masks or dance with us!”
Of course, no Coffin Dancing meme is complete without coffin dancing, so the pallbearers are seen carrying out their usual routine with ease while having the vibrant garments on.
