Apple Files Patent For MacBook Touch Bar That Lets You Navigate On ‘Force Touch’

Apple has filed a new patent application showing a revamped version of the Touch Bar, which hints at Force Touch technology capabilities.
The document, published in the US Patent & Trademark Office, was noted by Patently Apple. The report stated that the patent was filed in May 2019, which showed a new Touch Bar made sensitive to touch pressure. This could mean that the tech giant might feature Force Touch in upcoming laptops.
Apple first introduced Force Touch sensors for its first-generation Apple Watch, and then later for its MacBook trackpad in 2015. The technology allowed the Apple Watch to execute different actions according to the touch intensity. It also enabled MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar to function without a mechanical button.
In the same year, the iPhone 6s came with 3D Touch, though the function is no longer integrated into the latest iPhones. The Force Touch technology was also discontinued for the new models of the Apple Watch.
