Sneaker brand adidas has teamed up with porcelain maker Meissen, which has embraced intricate styles and patterns for years, to create a handcrafted Originals ZX8000 silhouette.

The exclusive sneaker model was inspired by Meissen’s Krater Vase, which was first designed back in 1865. It is adorned with 15 of the piece’s 130 different designs.

The ZX8000 Porcelain model took six months in the making with the vibrant artworks painstakingly hand-painted over the shoe’s leather, emphasizing every little detail.

The premium edition, weighing 950 grams, is now going under the hammer at auctioneer Sotheby’s sale, and is estimated to garner up to US$1 million. View the design below.
