It looks like emo is not dead in 2020, as My Chemical Romance’s latest makeup collection with HipDot was snapped up in a matter of minutes.
The rock band is recognized for its dark and grim appeal. Now, MCR has decided to share the style with its fans through a collaboration with makeup brand HipDot.
The duo released a
makeup line inspired by My Chemical Romance’s album
Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. The one-of-a-kind edition is also named after the album.
The limited-edition collection includes an eyeshadow palette (US$24), double-ended retractable eyeshadow brush (US$12), and a double-ended black liquid eyeliner pen (US$12) with two differed shaped application tips. Its packaging features emblems in line with the album, as well as red and black tones synonymous to the band’s emo aesthetics.
My Chemical Romance and HipDot also
teased the new collection by posting cryptic videos on Instagram with tracks from the specific album.
Once it was revealed that the band had released a makeup collection, the items were sold out within minutes. Many fans pointed out that they weren’t able to access
HipDot’s website after the product’s launch, and expressed their disappointment for not being able to get hold of the exclusive line in time.
