This Man Dreamed Of A Strange Meal Called ‘King’s Hand’ And Made It From Memory

Ever had a dream you wished you could remember more about? For data analyst Arseny, who goes by @thatfrood on Twitter, it was a dream of a festival that served a dish called ‘King’s Hand’.
King’s Hand, the main course of a feast he had come across in a dreamworld, was a hollow hand-shaped M&M cookie with a Greek salad filling—but that was pretty much all that he could remember. Arseny couldn’t get the meal out of his head, so he decided to recreate it in the real world.

The 28-year-old from Madison, Wisconsin told BuzzFeed News that, upon awakening from the dream, he quickly typed out the ingredients of the dish in a group chat so that he would “force myself to have to make it, now that I put it out into our friend group.” His friends were evidently skeptical, but the baking enthusiast pressed on.
The key component of the dish, the hand, turned out to be quite the challenge to replicate. Arseny said he was able to recall what it looked like but could not find a mold that resembled it, so he took matters into his own hand(s) and created one using silicone.

The entire project took about a week, but it turned out to be really fulfilling for Arseny. “I was super proud of it and I took a bite out of it,” he told BuzzFeed News. “I was like, heck yeah.” Since then, his tweet detailing the fantasy dish has amassed over 21,800 retweets and nearly 218,000 likes.
However, he admitted to being more partial to the dish’s odd flavor profile than others might take to it, since it is his “dream food.”
“It’s hard for me to tell you how King’s Hand tasted,” he described. “I dreamed it up in my dreams, so when I bit into it, it was very rewarding… If another person were to bite into King’s Hand, they could barf.”
Some curious internet users decided to put the recipe to the test and returned with varying results. According to the data analyst, one person “said it’s s**t.”
On the other side, another who baked it thought “the onion kinda does something.”

Take it out and scoop out dough for the base and to make it hollow. Flatten the scooped out stuff into a thin sheet and put in the oven to bake, along with the hand again. I dunno, I did like 10 minutes. Raise the temp back up to bc now you want it hot and baked pic.twitter.com/rVoyHKTFgJ

Take it out and freeze it! Gotta be cool and solid to demold. Chop up the Greek salad meanwhile. When it is solid remove from the mold, cut around the hand to remove the overhanging edges, fill with salad, cover with base, and you have the King’s Hand pic.twitter.com/QmJxajchDK
