Zara Teams Up With Rising Designers To Create Affordable Eco-Friendly Clothing

Zara has joined forces with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) to create a fashion capsule collection spotlighting emerging talent in today’s fashion industry.
The pieces are designed by four talented finalists from the 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund—Barragán, Private Policy, ABASI ROSBOROUGH and Alejandra Alonso Rojas—who have come together to create statement-making garments at affordable prices.
Instead of designing pieces from scratch, the designers have been tasked to incorporate a vintage garment together with a new one, using fabrics that meet Zara’s Join Life standards. With sustainability in mind, the timeless garments can be worn during any season and styled with basic pieces.
ABASI ROSBOROUGH has created a striking red suit set, which combines pieces from designer Abdul Abasi’s service in the US Military and Greg Rosborough’s love for basketball. Alejandra Alonso Rojas has combined traditional and experimental techniques to design a luxe tie-dye dress, pants and Kimono gown.
Barragán has designed an asymmetrical trench coat out of naturally grown linen, while Private Policy has created a pink tailor suit with eye-catching embroidery.
