Is This Real Life Or A Simulation? A New Docuseries Explores ‘The Matrix’ Theory

For years, people have been discussing various conspiracy theories on the internet. One of the popular ones involves the idea that the current reality is actually a simulation—in other words, everyone is living in a world similar to the cult film The Matrix. Now, a new documentary called A Glitch In The Matrix will be exploring The Matrix theory as a possible way this world runs.
The docuseries will be directed by Rodney Ascher, who is distinguished for documentaries like Room 237 and The Nightmare. A Glitch In The Matrix will delve into the human experience and how the reality that people are living in could be a simulation.
The new teaser trailer for the documentary starts with a noted speech by sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick, and it soon enters the rabbit hole of “science, philosophy, and conspiracy theory.” The existential show will dive into the mind-bending concept through interviews with “real people shrouded in digital avatars and a wide array of voices, experts and amateurs alike.”
A Glitch In The Matrix will premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, before rolling out to the public on 5 February 2021.
