Radiohead Unveils Apocalyptic-Themed Digital Cards To Send To Your Friends

Radiohead has launched a series of customizable digital greeting cards via its online public library.
Fans can now personalize cards and send them to their loved ones. The text and art options are cryptic and apocalyptic-themed, and more modifications are available in dropdown menus.
Some of phrases offered include, “Everything is rosy,” “In lieu of emptiness,” and, “Sunlit uplands still await.” Each artwork was created by the band’s artist Stanley Donwood.
Radiohead reaffirms that no data will be stored when you use its digital card creation tool.
“This festive card is for you to make and send acquaintances new and old,” a message on the website reads. “No element of data placed onto it will be stored by Radiohead. Please don’t run. This is still a library.”
According to Pitchfork, Radiohead member Jonny Greenwood also shared a festive message alongside the digital cards feature.
“Right now, I just feel this: I hope you are all safe and well and not too scared, or too bored,” he said. “I also hope that somehow we can be part of making music for you soon, and that the pleasure of making music, and hearing music, whether in a gig, concert hall, church, or at home with friends—is not forgotten in this desolate year.”
