Meet The Everyday Heroes Overcoming The Pandemic As Comic Book Stars

London-based creative and comic book fan Tomo Taka has designed a series of comic book covers inspired by the everyday heroes amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Taka explained that comic book covers typically extol fictitious heroes and serve as inspiration for readers. This time around, the creative brings center stage to real-life heroes who have gone above and beyond to help others during the crisis. His designs include the cashier, cleaner, deliverer, and doctor. These roles have played a pivotal part in keeping people safe in a virus crisis.
“Even though lockdown restrictions in some parts of the world are easing, it feels important to remember what some have done for us,” Taka said of his inspiration behind the project.
In the artwork of the doctor, called ‘Doctor Convalescence’, a medical professional is cheekily depicted in “Hospital Wars” using a Star Wars-inspired typeface. ‘Captain Cashier’ is “scanning forever,” and ‘The Deliverer’ can be seen sending off a package.
