Vogue Magazine Will Publish 2nd Edition Of Kamala Harris Issue Following Outcry

After receiving fierce backlash from the public, Vogue magazine has announced that it will be releasing a second version of its February issue featuring Vice President-elect Kamala Harris in a blue powder suit.
While newsstands will receive the controversial original edition, which features Harris in Converse sneakers and a black suit against a pink satin backdrop, fans will also have the option to purchase a copy of the digital version containing the alternative cover for US$7.99.
The decision to sell the second cover comes after social media users claimed the print variation was too “informal.” The magazine also stated that the limited-edition digital cover has received “enormous interest.”
Anna Wintour weighed in on the issue, saying, “We have heard and understood the reaction to the print cover, and I just want to reiterate that it was absolutely not our intention to in any way diminish the importance of the Vice President-elect’s incredible victory.”
“We want nothing but to celebrate Vice President-elect Harris’s amazing victory and the important moment this is in America’s history, and particularly for women of color, all over the world,” she continued, per The Guardian.
