Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) has put a smile on the nation despite the border closures in the country.
A series of tongue-in-cheek digital murals showing Australian leaders settling their differences and coming together by sharing a lamb chop will be displayed around cities and border towns in Australia.
As frustrations between premiers ignite, a mural featuring NSW leader Gladys Berejiklian tucking into a lamb chop with her Queensland counterpart Annastacia Palaszczuk is bound to draw a national laugh.
Another mural shows prime minister Scott Morisson and WA premier Mark McGowan sharing a lamb in a warm embrace. These murals will be placed on billboard trucks in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth, to name a few. These artworks, illustrated by Nigel Buchanan, is inspired by “the kiss,” the famous Berlin wall mural.

“During 2020, for the first time in history, some Australian states closed their borders, separating families and loved ones, causing confusion, and highlighting some simmering political tensions. As the brand that stands for unity, we thought it only appropriate to bring our leaders back together, in the most delicious way possible, with a juicy tender BBQ lamb cutlet. Our hope is that Australians will see these murals as a fun symbol of our country, doing what it does best, putting its differences aside and working together to overcome adversity,” said Graeme Yardy, domestic market manager at MLA.
The murals were created by Australian Lamb and The Monkeys.
