Pharrell Williams Channels Wes Anderson Movies To Design Swanky New Hotel

Pharrell Williams has partnered with Miami-based businessman David Grutman to open a swanky new hotel in Miami.
According to Ocean Drive Magazine, planning for the Goodtime Hotel took three years, and Grutman explained that the pandemic also hindered the hotel’s progress. Indicative of its name, the hotel centers on having a good time.
Williams and Grutman, together with interior designer Ken Fulk and landscape architect Raymond Jungles, developed a whimsical yet glamorous place of accommodation that allows guests to escape from reality. The hotel boasts a large-scale pool deck, a restaurant called Strawberry Moon, 266 boutique-style guest rooms, recording studios, and an outdoor gym.
Its captivating design and vibrant interiors could make you feel “like being in a Wes Anderson film,” Williams said. He added to expect “good vibes, good energy, good environment, good food and good karma” there.
The seven-story structure boasts white columns and has a glass-topped breezeway. Fulk brought his signature ornate touch to the design, and Jungles gave it a touch of greenery. “I think when you see all of the space together, there’s something that feels as if it could be from the 19th century, mixed with mid-century Dolce Vita, mixed with a dose of 1980s optimism,” Fulk shared.
The Goodtime Hotel is scheduled to open in April, but fans can book a room at the luxe hotel now. Room rates start at US$260 per night.
