Brands have gotten the better of life amid COVID, creating digital experiences that sometimes
aren’t replicable by the original versions. For Cadbury UK, it’s overcoming the pains of physical separation and travel constraints by hosting a worldwide Easter egg hunt that lets families plant eggs anywhere in the world for loved ones.
With its new Worldwide Hide website, customers can drop an Easter egg in Google Maps to be located via Street View. It won’t be a wild goose chase, as hosts will share a personalized clue to nudge recipients in the right directions.
Chocolate eggs can be purchased from a Cadbury Worldwide Hide selection, which will be delivered to recipients who complete the game, or obtained as free virtual versions.
"With travel restricted for a lot of us, the Cadbury WorldWide Hide takes the usual garden egg hunt and helps you travel the world in search of the Iconic Purple Cadbury Egg, hidden somewhere that is meaningful to you and the hider,” explained Markéta Kristlová, senior brand manager of Easter UK at Mondelez International, via
Campaign. “We can't wait to share it with everyone and make people feel a little more connected however far apart they may be this Easter.”
Interested participants can start hiding Easter eggs from March 9
here.
